End-User License Agreement (EULA)

Effective Date: September 30, 2026

This End-User License Agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you (“you” or “Licensee”) and Login AlertX (“we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your use of the Login AlertX software (the “Software”). By installing, accessing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by this EULA. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

1. Software Description

The Software consists of:

  • A monitoring service that runs in the background (a Windows Service or, on supported Linux systems, a systemd daemon) and detects login and session events, such as logon, lock, unlock, sleep, wake, remote desktop, and SSH sessions.
  • A desktop application, and a command-line tool (loginalertx) on supported platforms, that receive events from the service, manage your settings, validate paid features, and send alerts through the channels you configure.
  • The Login AlertX – Companion mobile app, which receives push alerts and lets you view activity from linked devices.

Use of the Software is subject to a valid subscription or a 30-day trial, governed by our Terms of Service (“TOS”).

2. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with this EULA and the TOS, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software for personal or internal business use, on the number of devices allowed by your plan, during the term of your active subscription or the 30-day trial period. The license includes:

  • Free Features: Basic login event monitoring and email notifications, available without a paid subscription.
  • Paid Features: Advanced monitoring, AI risk scoring, evidence capture (webcam, audio, and screenshots), additional alert channels, and other features described on our Pricing page. These are available during the 30-day trial or with a paid subscription and a valid serial key, validated via our server at loginalertx.com.
  • Companion App: The Companion mobile app is licensed to you for use with your own licensed Software. If you download it from an app store (such as Google Play), that store’s terms also apply.

Each license is tied to a device identifier. The number of devices or servers you may activate depends on your plan at the time of purchase. If you need to move a license to another device, contact us.

3. License Restrictions

You may not:

  • Modify, adapt, translate, decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the Software, except as permitted by applicable law.
  • Copy, distribute, sublicense, sell, lease, or transfer the Software or any serial key to any third party.
  • Use the Software on more devices than your plan allows.
  • Bypass, tamper with, or disable license validation or any security measures in the Software.
  • Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices in the Software.
  • Use the Software in a way that breaches Section 4.

4. Lawful and Authorized Use

The Software can capture webcam images, screenshots, and audio, record login and device events, and send them to the notification channels you configure. You agree that you will:

  • Install and use the Software only on devices you own or are legally authorized to monitor.
  • Not use the Software for illegal purposes, covert surveillance, stalking, harassment, or the unlawful interception of another person’s communications or activity.
  • Obtain explicit consent from individuals whose image, audio, or activity is captured, and give any notices required, where the law requires it.
  • Comply with all local laws on surveillance, recording, data collection, and storage, including data protection and privacy laws (for example, the DPDP Act, GDPR, and CCPA).
  • Store and protect any captured images, audio, or logs securely to prevent unauthorized access.

We may suspend or terminate your license if we reasonably believe the Software is being used in breach of this section.

5. Plans, Trial, and Paid Features

The Software’s functionality depends on your plan or trial period:

  • Free Features: Available during and after the 30-day trial, with limited configuration options.
  • Paid Features: Available during the 30-day trial or with a paid annual subscription and a valid serial key. The Software validates the key with our server at loginalertx.com.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your serial key and for having a working internet connection for license validation after the 30-day trial. We may disable paid features if validation fails because of an invalid or expired subscription. Billing, renewals, and refunds are described in our Terms of Service and Refund Policy. If you bought through the Microsoft Store, Microsoft’s terms govern billing and refunds for that purchase.

6. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Installing and configuring the Software correctly, including notification channels (such as SMTP, Google OAuth, push, WhatsApp, and messaging platforms) and enabling or disabling features such as webcam, audio, and screenshot capture.
  • Securing the credentials you enter for notification channels, such as SMTP passwords, Google OAuth credentials, bot tokens, and webhook URLs. These are stored on your device (for example, in Windows Credential Manager or in encrypted local storage), and their security depends on the security of your device.
  • Having the authority to install a background service with elevated privileges on each device where you install the Software.
  • Ensuring your device meets the Software’s system requirements, which are listed on our Download page.
  • Securing any application or system that receives data from the Software’s local interfaces (such as its local inter-process communication channels). We are not liable for unauthorized access to that data resulting from your failure to secure your systems.
  • Maintaining the security of your subscription account and serial key.
  • DPDP Act Compliance: If you are located in India, you agree to comply with your statutory duties as a Data Principal under Section 15 of the DPDP Act (including not impersonating others, not suppressing material facts, and not filing false or frivolous grievances).

7. Alert Delivery and Security Disclaimer

Login AlertX helps you detect and be notified of login and system events, but it is a monitoring aid and not a complete security solution. Delivery of alerts depends on factors outside our control, including your device being powered on and connected to the internet, your configuration, and the availability of email, push, WhatsApp, and other messaging providers you rely on. We do not guarantee that every event will be detected or that every alert will be delivered on time or at all, and you should not rely on the Software as your only security control.

8. Updates

We may provide updates, patches, or new versions of the Software to improve functionality, fix bugs, or address security issues. Updates are subject to this EULA. Depending on how you installed the Software, updates may be delivered by the Microsoft Store, by your package manager, or by a manual download, and you are responsible for installing them to maintain compatibility and security. We may stop supporting older versions with reasonable notice.

9. Intellectual Property

The Software and all related materials, including code, documentation, and trademarks, are owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You do not acquire any ownership rights in the Software. The “Login AlertX” name and logo are our trademarks and may not be used without written permission.

10. Third-Party Components and Services

The Software includes third-party components and open-source libraries, which are subject to their own licenses. We are not responsible for the performance or availability of these components.

The Software can also send data to third-party services when you enable the related features, including push delivery (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging), WhatsApp delivery (Twilio and WhatsApp), location lookup (ip-api.com), and the messaging or email services you configure (such as Telegram, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Chat, and Discord). These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their availability, performance, or practices.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what the Software keeps on your device and what it sends elsewhere. In summary:

  • Your settings, channel credentials, captured images, audio, screenshots, event history, and logs are stored and processed locally on your device and are not transmitted to us.
  • To activate and validate your license, the Software sends your license key, registered email address, and a device identifier to our server.
  • Alerts, and any attachments you choose to include, are sent to the channels you enable. Once delivered, they are held by those services under their own policies.

By using the Software, you agree to the Privacy Policy and acknowledge that you are responsible for complying with applicable data protection laws, particularly for locally stored images and audio, and for the content you send to third-party channels.

12. Termination

This EULA and your license to use the Software will terminate if:

  • Your subscription or 30-day trial expires or is canceled, as governed by the TOS.
  • You violate any terms of this EULA or the TOS.
  • We discontinue the Software or its support, with notice as described in the TOS.

You may end this EULA at any time by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling the Software. Upon termination, you must stop using the Software, uninstall it from your devices, and delete any captured images, audio, or other data it collected that you no longer need or are not legally required to keep. Paid features may be disabled remotely upon termination or expiration. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 3, 4, 9, and 13 to 17) will continue to apply.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Software will meet your requirements or operate without errors.
  • All login events will be detected or notifications delivered successfully.
  • Webcam, audio, or screenshot capture will work on all systems or meet specific quality standards.
  • The Software will be compatible with all systems or third-party applications.

This does not affect any warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we, our affiliates, and our licensors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Software, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data, privacy, or profits.
  • Failures due to system incompatibilities, network issues, third-party services, or misconfiguration.
  • Unauthorized access to local interface communications, captured images, audio, or screenshots.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of this EULA or use of the Software is limited to the amount you paid for your subscription in the twelve (12) months before the event, or INR 3,000, whichever is greater, excluding the 30-day trial period.

Nothing in this EULA excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct, or any consumer rights that apply to you by law.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, or damages arising from your use of the Software, including violations of this EULA (including Section 4), misuse of webcam, audio, or screenshot features, or non-compliance with applicable laws (such as privacy regulations).

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This EULA is governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. If you are a consumer outside India, this does not remove any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under the laws of your country.

17. Entire Agreement and General Terms

This EULA, together with the TOS, the Privacy Policy, and the Refund Policy, is the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Software. If this EULA and the TOS conflict about your use of the Software, this EULA prevails; for the Website, purchases, subscriptions, and billing, the TOS prevails. If any provision of this EULA is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign this EULA without our written consent; we may assign it in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business.
