System Requirements

Before installing Login AlertX, ensure your system meets the following requirements to guarantee smooth operation. These specifications are designed to support both basic and premium features for home and small business users.

Operating System

  • Windows 10 or later (32-bit or 64-bit editions).
  • Ensure your system is up to date with the latest Windows updates for optimal performance.

Hardware

  • Memory (RAM): Minimum 2 GB (4 GB recommended for premium features like webcam and audio capture).
  • Storage: At least 50 MB of free disk space for installation and operation.
  • Optional Hardware (for premium features):
    • Webcam: Required for capturing photos in notifications.
    • Microphone: Required for recording audio clips in notifications.

Network

  • A stable internet connection is required for:
    • Sending email notifications (via OAuth or SMTP).
    • Validating premium licenses.
  • No internet is needed for local event monitoring, but queued events require connectivity to be sent.

Permissions

  • Administrative Privileges: Required during installation to set up the Login AlertX service and write to system directories.
  • After installation, the application can be configured by standard users, but initial setup requires admin rights.

Dependencies

  • All necessary software components (runtime libraries) are bundled with the installer, so no additional downloads are needed.
  • For premium features, ensure webcam and microphone drivers are installed and up to date (check in Device Manager).

Additional Notes

  • Multi-User Environments: Login AlertX supports multiple user accounts on a single PC, with each user configuring their own notification settings.
  • Antivirus Compatibility: Some antivirus programs may flag the installer or service. Add Login AlertX to your antivirus exclusions if needed.
  • Firewall Settings: Ensure outbound traffic is allowed on ports 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL) for email notifications.
