Memory & CPU
- RAM: 2 GB minimum.
- Recommended RAM: 4 GB or higher if enabling the AI Risk Scoring engine, high-resolution webcam capture, or ambient audio recording.
- Runtime Resource Footprint: Background service operates with ultra-low resource usage (<25 MB RAM, <0.1% idle CPU).
Storage
- Disk Space: 350+ MB free disk space (includes self-contained .NET 10 runtime binaries, local SQLite database, and machine learning models).
- Evidence Buffer: Additional temporary space recommended if retaining webcam photos and audio recordings locally.
Optional Peripherals (Visual & Audio Evidence)
- Webcam: Any standard UVC-compliant integrated or USB external webcam (required for intruder photo capture). Supports single and multi-camera setups.
- Microphone: Any standard integrated or external USB microphone (required for 1–60 second ambient audio recording on login).
Software & Runtime Dependencies
- Zero External Dependencies: Login AlertX v4.0 is fully self-contained. The Windows installer, MSIX package, and Linux packages (
.deb/.tar.gz) bundle all required .NET 10 modern runtime components. No separate framework installations are needed. - Linux System Requirements: Requires
systemdto manage the background service daemon (loginalertx.service) and access to authentication journals or PAM logs.
Network & Firewall Requirements
Login AlertX operates securely in both connected and offline/air-gapped environments:
Outbound Network Ports
- Port 443 (HTTPS): Required for Google OAuth, WhatsApp alerts, Mobile Push notifications, Telegram Bot API, Slack / Teams / Discord / Webhooks, and License activation.
- Port 587 (TLS/STARTTLS) / Port 465 (SSL): Required if sending alerts through a custom SMTP mail server.
Offline Resilience & Local Outbox
An active internet connection is not required for session monitoring. If a device is offline, access events and captured evidence are stored in an encrypted local SQLite outbox and automatically dispatched as soon as network connectivity is restored.
Permissions & Privileges
- Windows: Administrator privileges are required during installation to register the
LoginAlertXServicebackground service and subscribe to Windows Security Audit events. Once installed, standard user accounts can run the UI tray application without elevated rights. - Linux: Root or
sudoprivileges are required to install packages, configure the systemd unit (loginalertx.service), and monitor PAM/SSH session logs.
Antivirus & Security Software
Login AlertX binaries are digitally signed and verified clean by independent security platforms. Because Login AlertX operates as a background service and monitors system security audit logs, some strict endpoint protection (EDR) or corporate antivirus tools may monitor the service registration.
