Integrations
Login AlertX can integrate with your favorite communication tools like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Google Chat. This allows you to receive login alerts instantly in your team’s workspace, alongside your existing workflows and notifications.
What are Plugins?
Integrations in Login AlertX are handled through Plugins. Each plugin is a standalone module that adds a new notification channel to the application. Most plugins use Webhooks to send data from your PC to the external service securely.
What is a Webhook?
Think of a Webhook as a “digital mailbox” for a specific app. When Login AlertX detects a login, it “drops a letter” (the alert details) into that mailbox URL. The target app (like Slack) then displays that message in the channel you’ve chosen.
Step 1: Create a Webhook URL
Before configuring Login AlertX, you must generate a Webhook URL from the application you want to receive alerts in.
- Slack: Create an “Incoming Webhook” via the Slack API dashboard.
- Microsoft Teams: Add the “Incoming Webhook” connector to a specific channel within your team.
- Google Chat: Open the “Apps & integrations” menu in your space and select “Webhooks”.
Step 2: Configure the Plugin
Once you have your Webhook URL, follow these steps to enable it in the app:
- Open Login AlertX on your PC.
- Navigate to the Plugins tab at the top.
- Locate the plugin you wish to use (e.g., Slack Notification Plugin).
- Click on the plugin name to open the settings panel.
- Paste your Webhook URL into the Webhook URL field.
- Click Save to store your configuration securely.
Step 3: Test the Connection
After saving, always verify that the integration is working:
- With the plugin settings open, click the Test Connection button.
- Login AlertX will send a dummy “Test Alert” to your Webhook URL.
- Check your Slack/Teams/Google Chat channel. If you see the test message, your integration is successful!
⚠️ Important: Ensure your PC has an active internet connection for Webhooks to function. Unlike SMTP email, Webhooks cannot function on a strictly local network without internet access.
